4. The ‘SPEAK’ framework – proven strategies

The Hemsley Fraser Insight Group brought together extensive evidence and best practice, to develop the ‘SPEAK’ framework – to guide both team leaders and L&D professionals in creating and cultivating a climate that boosts team learning. There are also further learning assets available on our digital hub.

The framework highlights five clear priorities to address and nurture – in a clear, easy-to-remember acronym.

Like any risk, psychological safety risk is dynamic and influenced by many factors. It needs ongoing attention and is certainly not a one-and-done situation. As such, these priorities are not a checklist. Instead, they are useful prompts to inform and inspire.
